Avril Lavigne embarked on The Best Damn Tour, beginning March 5, 2008 to October 6, 2008 in 110 tour dates to support her third album The Best Damn Thing. The tour visited North America from March to May, then from May to July all over Europe, coming back to the USA and Canada in July–August and finally went to Asia from August to October. The opening act for the North American leg of her tour was Boys Like Girls. The European leg of the tour was opened by the Jonas Brothers.

At the very first assembly of the brand-new Los Feliz Arts Charter School several hundred lucky students and their faculty were surprised by Office Max and The Jonas Brothers, who turned up to help donate thousands of dollars worth of school supplies. Each year, on average, teachers supply their classrooms with nearly $1,000 of supplies out of their own pockets, so Office Max created the "A Day Made Better" campaign to help the generous teachers do more to help their students learn better.

Betty was on hand to see the gleeful students' extreme surprise and excitement while the Jonas trio also gave them a signed guitar to promote more music in schools.

We chatted with the adorable trio of brothers.

How important is this specific school-being that it's charter school for the arts-to you in your charity work?
Joe : Being able to help out and give back is one of the most rewarding things we can do in our careers.
Nick : This is a really special thing and the fact that we're doing this for teachers is really cool. And it's going to benefit the whole classroom, not just the teachers.

As you guys get older is this also a way to tap into new younger audiences?
Nick : I guess so. We're all surprised that these kids knew who we were! They're really young. I think they were more pumped about the confetti! They were flippin' out. It was awesome!

How do you see education and young people evolving and how are you gearing yourselves towards that evolution?
Joe : I think simply this school is a great example of where the world is going. It's trying to be greener and conservative, but also taking risks. I think people are realizing not everyone learns the same and these students in here are going to be taught a new way of learning based on the arts and finding a passion. That creates not only a career path but also joy in life. You read articles about kids playing music and painting and how that enhances the learning experience. If I have kids I would want to send them here.
